Four Songs for a Color Field is a musical expression of the ideas and concepts that exist in Color Field Art. In this style, the purpose of the work is to create an abstract meaning by combining and juxtaposing solid colors. In this piece, I have approached this fusion of objectivity and subjectivity by using words, timbres, and registers that I think inherently represent a certain color and combined them with an intentionally abstract text. The titles of each movement are a specific color in hexadecimal, which provides a secondary abstraction of the work.
