     Ganymede is a theme and variations inspired by both the Greek Myth and the Galilean moon of the same name.  In the myth, Ganymede, a mortal, is transported to Mount Olympus. I feel a similar sentiment of wonder when we gaze at the extraterrestrial from satellite images. Ganymede attempts to combine this sense of marvel at the heavens with a second notion: Though rotation of planets and moons seem identical and systematic on the outside, the internal changes that happen over time are vast.
